About the event
Meet at the bus stop at 9 am!
El Rio turned 150 this year, and one special way we’re celebrating is by creating a Butterfly Bus Stop — a pollinator garden at the Gold Coast stop on North Rose Avenue. This small but mighty project will replace a typical monthly clean-up event and instead invite our residents to plant native flowers, beautify the space, and give back to the community that raised them.
This stop is a well-used connection point for El Rio, especially for students returning home from Rio Mesa High School. It's more than just a waiting place — it's a symbol of movement, growth, and community pride. Now, we want it to truly reflect that spirit.
